Füsun Özgüner is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Ohio State University, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Dr. Özgüner received an M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Istanbul Technical University in 1972, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 1975.  She worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the I.B.M. T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, New York for one year and joined the faculty at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Istanbul Technical University in 1976. She spent the summers of 1977 and 1985 at the I.B.M. T.J. Watson Research Center and was a visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto in 1980. Since January 1981 she has been with The Ohio State University where she is currently a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She served as the Interim Department Chair from September 2004 to 2006. Her current research interests are parallel and fault-tolerant architectures, multicore chips, heterogeneous distributed computing, real-time parallel computing and communication, cybersecurity in intelligent vehicles and mobile networks, cyberphysical systems. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, NASA, Air Force Research Labs, US Department of Transportation and industrial sponsors such as IBM and Honda. Dr. Ozguner has served as an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Computers and as program co-chair and general chair for several international conferences. She has published over 150 papers in journals and conference proceedings.
