Ron Burton received and his master’s degree in public administration and his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Write State University. Mr. Burton has over 26 years of technical management experience in the areas of vehicle stability and control, experimental trauma research, crash-avoidance advanced technology, and crashworthiness testing and simulation. In 1992, Mr. Burton began serving as TRC’s program manager for experimental trauma research collaborating with the College of Medicine at The Ohio State University. In 1996, Mr. Burton was assigned as an operations manager at TRC ‘s Impact Laboratory responsible for vehicle crashworthiness testing and simulation. Currently, Mr. Burton is a corporate officer for TRC and has program management oversight in injury biomechanics, vehicle crashworthiness, advanced crash-avoidance technology and human factors engineering. Mr. Burton recently authored a NHTSA publication establishing a basis of design for a crash-avoidance advanced technology test course. Mr. Burton has been a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers since 1998, and has chaired an SAE task group focused on the large male anthropomorphic test device. Mr. Burton currently serves as a chair of an SAE Active Safety Committee Task Group.
